Top half closed seasonally, State Wildlife Area, opens mid-June. Good quality road for the bottom half at least. Very scenic, meadows, Mt. Evans backdrop. Combine with Yankee Creek.

Hunting season is the day after labor day to mid Nov, road closed to other uses; road closed in spring; fish and wildlife permitted needed in the remaining window. Really great, smooth hardpack.

Rode top half for first time 7/4/2019 - very steep! Good condition to the end at Camp Rock campground, but road does narrow. Caution needed especially on descending with oncoming vehicles.
