Drove down this, early June 2023, road was much rougher than Rampart. Severe erosion trenching to the point you'll likely need to get off the bike and vehicles without high clearance shouldn't take this road. Bottom section below the tree line (vegetation is scrub) is extremely steep, to the point cars coming down could easily overshoot a turn. I would not want to be biking up as a car is coming down. Plus it's so steep only the best could get up without walking. As you can see, it's also the windiest road I've ever been on, literally, it's impressive. But also narrow and with that winding and vegetation blocking site lines, it's not the safest. It's not an escape from cars compared to rampart either as there's still camping and trailheads at the top of this road and houses at the bottom half. If you want an extreme climb you could ride this, descending won't me much fun, but it's far from the best option.

Ridden July 2019 - very nice climb to Rampart Range, road good condition. Lower half steep and exposed, top half gentler and plenty of shade. A delight compared to Rampart Range Rd which this ends at.
